5 DYI Face Scrubs You Can Make At Home



Making your own face scrub at home has a number of benefits. First, you can customize the ingredients to suit your specific skin type. Second, homemade scrubs are usually more gentle on the skin than commercial ones. And third, they're often less expensive than store-bought versions.

There are many different recipes for DIY face scrubs, but we've rounded up five of our favorites. Each one uses different ingredients, so you can choose the one that best suits your needs.

 

1. Sugar and Lemon Scrub

This scrub is great for brightening and stimulating the skin. The lemon juice will help to slough off dead skin cells, while the sugar will exfoliate and leave your skin feeling smooth and soft.

RECIPE:

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 cup lemon juice


In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and lemon juice until well combined. Use to exfoliate your face, massaging in a circular motion. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.

2. Honey and Oatmeal Scrub

This scrub is perfect for Dry Skin types as it's very hydrating. The oatmeal will help to soothe the skin, while the honey will lock in moisture.

RECIPE:

1/4 cup of raw honey

1/2 cup of rolled oats

1 tablespoon of brown sugar

Lemon juice (optional)


Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Wet your face with warm water and apply the scrub in circular motions. Rinse with cold water and pat dry.

3. Strawberry and Yogurt Scrub

This scrub is perfect for Sensitive Skin types as it's very gentle. The strawberries will help to exfoliate, while the yogurt will soothe and calm the skin.

RECIPE:

1 cup of strawberries

1/2 cup non flavored yogurt

1 Tbsp of Olive Oil


Mash the strawberries in a bowl and mix in the sugar and oil. Wet your face with warm water and apply the scrub in circular motions. Rinse with cold water

4. Cucumber and Mint Scrub

This scrub is great for Oily Skin types as it helps to control excess oil production. The cucumber will help to cool and refresh the skin, while the mint will help to mattify it.

RECIPE:

1/2 cucumber, peeled and cubed

1/4 cup fresh mint leaves

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup olive oil


Add cucumber, mint leaves, brown sugar, and olive oil to a blender or food processor. Blend until the mixture becomes a smooth paste. Apply the scrub to your face and massage in circular motions for about 1 minute.. Rinse with warm water and pat your face dry. Follow up with your favorite moisturizer.

5. Chocolate and Coffee Scrub

This scrub is perfect for Dull Skin types as it helps to brighten and stimulate the skin. The chocolate will help to exfoliate, while the coffee will help to increase circulation.

RECIPE:

1 cup of coffee grounds

1/2 cup of cocoa powder

1/2 cup of brown sugar

1/4 cup of olive oil or coconut oil


Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl. Apply the scrub to your face in circular motions and massage for 1-2 minutes. Rinse with warm water and pat your face dry. Use 2-3 times a week for best results. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 month.
