Homemade Cinnamon Roll Recipe
You know what's better than a homemade warm, gooey cinnamon roll? Nothing!
Now that cooler weather is approaching, there is nothing better than some good ol' fashion homemade comfort food. One of my favorite sweat treats is a large, warm, gooey cinnamon roll! Cinnamon rolls are a classic dessert favorite for most. They are perfect for a special occasion or just a weekend treat.
Cinnamon rolls aren't difficult to make but they do take a little time. The time spent making this sweet treat is so worth it though!
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup milk
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter
3/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons instant yeast
FILLING:
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup butter, softened
2 teaspoons cinnamon
GLAZE:
1 cup powdered sugar
3 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
INSTRUCTIONS:
In a small saucepan, heat the milk until it bubbles. Add the sugar, butter, and salt. Stir until the butter is melted. Cool to room temperature.
In a large bowl, combine the flour and yeast. Add the cooled milk mixture and stir until well blended.
Turn out the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes.
Roll the dough into a 12x18-inch rectangle. Spread the filling evenly over the dough. Roll up the dough tightly, starting with a long edge. Cut into 12 rolls. Place in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
Let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes or until doubled in size. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
While the rolls are baking, make the glaze by combining the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl. Drizzle over warm cinnamon rolls before serving!
Serve with a cold glass of milk or your morning coffee and enjoy!
